Back to work

After a long holiday for about 10 days, I'm back to work today with lazy & blur mind. Hopefully I will be back on track soon.

Plus New Toll Rate 1st Jan 09 - 31st Dec 10

PLUS's new toll rate has been effective today for class 1 vehicle.

Look at how much we can save when we travel off peak hours from Damansara - Changkat Jering. To their definition, this period (12-7am) is when we pay at toll plaza. I can merely save RM3.30 when I travel from Damansara - Changkat Jering during off peak period. I'm risking my life & endanger other road users for travelling during my ZZzzzZzz time.

To enjoy this promotion, will we see traffic jam situation at toll plaza between 12-1am or 6-7am?

Another promotion from PLUS is the PLUSMiles loyalty card. We can get 5% toll discount if our toll usage is RM200 and above per month. If we are a normal off-season highway users, we cannot really benefit from this promotion. An example is we travel (round-trip) monthly from Bukit Kayu Hitam - Skudai, we are charged RM211.80 for 1468km for a rebate of 5%. Besides, we can use this loyalty card to enjoy some discount at participated shop along PLUS highway. Now, compare to other mileage card (e.g.: MAS Enrich card, Asia Miles), we need to pay RM10 annual fee for this loyalty card.

To my opinion, PLUS is not really sincere this time given the timezone & annual fee for PLUSMiles loyalty card.

Smart Tag

After tired of waiting for the government to introduce new toll structure like Singapore ERP now, I have finally decided to get a Smart tag. I bought it at RM100 with balance display feature. Well, don't get me wrong, I'm not supporting the government to collect more tolls. Smart tag really saves some time at toll plaza now.
It was sold at RM50 during 50th Malaysia Independence. However the trick were, that version did not come with balance display feature & limited unit available.
Hopefully the machine will be able to save some time.

Treasure hunt

Just back from first time treasure hunt. The experience was great. It really needs a knowledgeable person to win the treasure hunt. I have difficulty in guessing the question. For example, simple question: "Bank issue that is licensed to kill?" in Sri Hartamas. The answer will be "Restaurant Korean Bon" shop at the neighborhood.
We finished 6th out of 9th in media category. Hoping to join more treasure hunt to gain more knowledge & tricks. Thumb-ups for the first-timers like us.
